Is this a little doll or what?
The extended family. The bigger calf you see is the one that
got loose lo, these many months ago, that I called the sheriff's deputy and tried to get back in... you know... the one the owner was nasty to me and said "It'll get itself back in!"... even though
it was on the road. Humpffff.
The grackles are back, just in the last few days!
Likewise, the red-winged blackbirds.
I'm trying to get some pictures of them.
We saw hawks EVERYWHERE.
Spring is definitely afoot.
This is the mess on the patio, but not for long. Ooops, I just realized Lilly was
taking care of her toilet.
I will keep feeding another month, and then stop for the summer.
I shoveled up most of this and threw it in the yard.
Is this funny or what? I not only have sunflowers starting up in the yard, but
they are trying to grow on the patio, too!
I'll be cutting down most of them.
Here is something else new in Leavenworth County... I have been passing this place twice a day, and today, saw movement.
Not a deer.
ELK.
I was at a Premier jewelry party for a rescue about six weeks ago,
and two ladies there were talking about elk, and one said her husband had
bought some. I did not even SEE the ten foot high fence going up.
I saw three cows.
My goodness!
Another grackle.
I am using the camera and learning to do better lighting, so bear with me for a while.
I am going to be helping at the Ag Hall tomorrow, and I'll go out for a little
while afterwards without the dogs, so I can take a few pictures and really fiddle around with the settings. We have decided we will wait a few months to replace the camera body, and I think I can get the results I want with this one. It will always be my backup.
I even your lessons.

Ah, I remember calving season.
ReplyDeleteWe saw some tiny, tiny deer at a place not too long ago. A bunch of them, so the people were raising them. Could not figure out why cause if it was for food, they were too little to end up with very much product.
