A Really Hot Thursday

The "feel like" temp for our area today is 103 degrees!

And I admit we are all trying to stay inside and take it easy... except for Keith,
who has been out at the old place for the last hour and a half, working on putting Kilz on the
floors prior to carpeting.

Lil has the right idea!

Lil had to make yet another trip to see Dr. Scott today... she has a bad right front paw, and
it was time to see what was going on.  Despite shaving the paw clean of hair and inspecting it under light, we
could not find an embedded burr or glass or splinter... so... she had a shot for inflammation, and is now
back on antiobiotics for five days, with us watching her closely for more problems.

An expensive month for Lilly Ann.

We had our fourth-to-the-last baseball game at the T Bones last night, and that's a sign
that summer is almost over.  They won.
We particularly like to watch the field guys mark the field and do other maintenance before the games.

As the crew wet the field down, a group of ladies from Curves entertained us in the background with some dance routines.

It was a hot, but beautiful, night...and we won.

I am trying to keep the zinnias and marigolds going for a while longer... and they are getting watered several times a day.

BUT.... look what's for sale at WalMart now!

  1. Keith and you are such hard workers!!!
And you are both the best pawrents to your pets,,,, so good you took her to the dr.
We hope Lilly feels better soon

  2. Mary Ann,

Our dog was favoring a paw, the vet., couldn't find anything in it. Come to find out his nails were too long and he kept licking his paws which caused a yeast infection between his paws. Beans gets groomed monthly and we cut his nails. Apparently his nails grow too fast and need to be clipped several times a month. The vet., gave us an antibiotic spray, and a spray to keep the paws from having issues again. The vet., even stated this time of year dogs get allergy issues in between their pads, and in their ears. I hope the meds work for Lilly, and things calm down in regards to vet., visits.

Take care, hugs to you and Keith.

  3. teddy is still holding her paw up and she is on anibiotics and prednisone for her allergies! lily sure does have the right idea! i would be doig the same thing in your heat. i just bought some flats of mums!

  4. Hope the meds do the trick and soon the paw will be just fine. It's always something! I Glad you could stay in and keep cool. It is warming up here and we'll be close to 90 this weekend.

  5. Her furry belly reminds me of my Country. I do miss her so much.

Love your flowers. They are beautiful and look happy.

Don't let Keith get too hot!

    Ya'll have a happy weekend.

  6. My pot plants look not nearly as good as yours, I am hoping the rain these last few days help!!! I will be so glad for you when the farm is all done and ready to rent. Your flowers are so pretty!!

  7. Well, guess it really is the 'dog' days of summer :)

The flowers are certainly enjoying the heat, and they look beautiful .

Continued luck with the renovations at the old place. It will be nice to get it done, and I hope the new residents will be appreciative of all you hard work!!
