Spring is bursting out all over here.... though we have had 4 inches of rain in the last two days.
Here is our weeping cherry tree, with it's delicate pink blossoms.
At the other end of the garden are the two pear trees:
Their blossoms are white. Both are in this picture, but they are lined up on each other, so it's hard to tell.
The spinach bed. Going gangbusters!
The pea beds at the top of this picture are also going well... and the peas are up so very much better than last year at this time.
If you look hard, you can see onions coming up in this bed.
All in all, we're satisfied with the way the garden is starting out this year. We still don't have the plastic on the hoop house... first it was windy for a week... then a tornado... now it is raining this week... but we'll get it on soon. I was able to score buy one get one on Burpee seeds at KMart this past weekend, so stocked up on flower seeds.
I did hear of a man locally who has fabulous sweet banana peppers imported from Croatia, and am going to try to run him down. I'm very interested in trying them, I like banana peppers.
More rain coming the next two days. We moved the new Millies out of the dog pen which was almost flooded into the nursing cage tonight to keep them dry for a couple of days. The big hens who lay in there daily will have to find another spot for a while.
We are suppose to get 3 to 8 inches today....

Beautiful little trees. We've had rain the last couple of days, and I hope we get some more.
ReplyDeleteI like your raised beds! I think they'd be much easier to weed and to pick from than a regular garden. Send some of that rain this way, please?!
