My Daddy Went Away with Lilly

Abby here.

This morning, my daddy got up early before he had to go to work.  He's been doing this a lot lately.

He went out to the gate, the one I can't go through.  I followed him.

He told me I had to stay here with Momma.

Daddy and Lilly went out through the gate.  See Lilly?  She has a big ole smile on her face, because she knows this is her special time with our Daddy.

I tried to make him come back for me, but he told me I had to stay here with Momma.

I tried to follow them as they went down the road.

Finally, I came to the corner and I couldn't go any farther.  I thought they went across the road into the Caldwell's pasture, so I kept looking for them, but it was just a calf.

My Mamma came over then, because she wanted to make sure I couldn't get through the fence.  I'm still too fat (thank heavens!)

We waited for Daddy and Lilly for a long time, but they did not come.

Finally, Ranger came to wait with us.

Then Momma took me in the henspa for a while, and we figured out what we needed to do in there today to clean it up.  When we came out, look what we saw!

Here comes my Daddy home again, safe!  I am so glad Lilly took care of him on their walk!

Daddy says I get to go with him as soon as Momma finds my little harness.  I sure hope it still fits!

(Momma's note:  Abby got to help me for an hour and  a half this morning in the henhouses and the garden.  I think all the straw we spread has probably blown away now, as the winds have come up and the temps have dropped ten degrees.  We are expecting rain and cold the rest of the week.  Abby is taking a snooze right now!)

That's it for today from Calamity Acres!

  2. Cute story!

In regard to my post, they could be made by rolling a small
amount of tape between the kisses because then you wrap them
with the cellophane. I think you probably shouldn't eat them
when the glue is used in case it seeps through the wrapper.
