I admit it, the little girls and I spent the day yesterday glued to the news, and praying for all those in harm's way.
Keith got home from work, and we watched together.
Gertie was a little worn out with tv at that point, and glad to have Daddy home.
Lilly Ann was tired, too, having spent more than an hour doing this! If you look closely, you can see where she has started a tunnel underneath, on the left.
3 places in the yard. Cutting this for salad tomorrow night.
We were absolutely blessed by God in this time of wild weather... this was the scene last night, the Halloween full moon, shining down into Spehar's ponds. We are so grateful for this peace, and are still praying for those whose lives have been turned upside down.
Hi Mary Ann, love seeing a slice of your life! We are safe too... and very blessed!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! :) We feel fortunate to have made it through the hurricane with only a power outage. We're feeling very thankful.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't get hit badly. LOL at the lettuce! and LOL at Lily Ann!
ReplyDeleteYour view is so peaceful. Like you, I am hoping and praying for those whose lives and homes have been devastated by Sandy.
ReplyDeleteThose living on the East coast do need all the prayers we can send!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics.
M :)
So glad you are`nt hit by that storm! Sorry from the bottom of our hearts here, for those that are. Seems to be getting worse, year on year? Ours too, nothing but wind and rain. Love that "Lonely Lettuce!"
ReplyDeleteHello my friend.. well we made out pretty well here in the great state... things tossed about, the ocean was pretty angry.. some heavy rain and loss of power for a bit... we were blessed... further south not so good... and some of the town is still without power... thank you for your thoughts and prayers... continue as there are many who have a big job ahead of them....
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you weren't affected by that terrible hurricane Sandy! We've been having high winds and some rain/snow but that's it, thank goodness!!
ReplyDeleteSince today is Halloween, I wanted to share this little poem with you...
This is Halloween
Goblins on the doorstep,
Phantoms in the air,
Owls on witches' gate posts,
Giving stare for stare.
Cats on flying broomsticks,
Bats against the moon,
Stirring round of fate-cakes,
With a solemn spoon.
Whirling apple parings,
Figures draped in sheets,
Dodging, disappearing,
Up and down the streets.
Jack-o'-lanterns grinning,
Shadows on a screen,
Shrieks and starts and laughter--
This is Halloween!
Happy Halloween, dear Mary Ann, make sure you come by my blog today for my Halloween Bash and see what costume I dressed you up in! hehe xoxo
Happy Halloween........wonderful full moon......such a wonderful picture.....Blessings Francine.🎃
ReplyDeleteI should have gone back in the house for the camera early this am when I took Country out. The moon was shining thru these fantastic clouds and it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteWas too cold to go back out and decided to just go ahead and get ready for work.
very well said. it is so disheartening to watch the news reports. so widespread.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching a lot of the storm coverage too. How scary.
