A Beautiful Sunday in Tonganoxie

Well,

I appear to be on the mend.

A couple more days of medicine and it should do it, I hope.

We had a beautiful day here.

The henspa girls and boys were eager to get out.

The henspa yard is building up into rich, rich compost.

But... it's also causing a problem.

Can you see her feet?  Her toes?  Mud clods!

These are mud clods that Keith has gotten off hens in the last two nights.  We soak them (I hold the hen) in the small container, then Keith begins to pick at them until he can get them loose. The poor girls were clumping around with them on, and I was so sick I didn't notice.

I found one more tonight, but hers are not bad, and we have not done her yet... probably Tuesday night, as we have our second-to-the-last baseball game tomorrow night.
I can't believe the season is almost over.

All of the flowers, not just the petunias, are having a last blast of color.  It almost hurts to look at them.

And I have never, ever, in my life seen as many butterflies as we are seeing now

And I don't know if you can see, but I had some trimming help as I cut grass tonight in the "front" yard... Kody and Kelly were right there helping me.  That deck-that-was-never-built will hopefully be removed at some point next year.

You may have to "biggify" to see Kelly's head, he is down in the frame and he heard me call his name and looked at me.

I'll try to get caught up reading all your blogs tomorrow, I'm sorry I'm so far behind, and again, thank you all for the wonderful well wishes and prayers you have said for me for the last week.  I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart.
