Progress on the Hen Palace

How did you spend your Labor Day weekend?

 

Keith spent his doing this:

 

And he blessedly filled in holes left by the electric-and-water-line running last year.

 

 

Here are the six started holes for the framework for the shade cloth which will cover the yard.  We want nothing swooping down on the birds, and nothing bringing disease into the yard. 

There will be a wood framework (you see two of the posts outside the fence on the right side of the picture...) and the shade cloth will be attached by grommets that they will put on when we order it later this week.

It will hand from the roof of the henhouse (actually, a board attached to the side) and drape over the frame in the middle, attaching to the outside posts.
