The ponds are filling, and water is standing in the pasture.
Every plant in the garden has shot up an inch or two in the past twenty four hours.
Need I tell you the henyards are total muck? I still have to go out and lock up, but at least I've given them the hint to go to bed early tonight, and turned the lights out.
3 chicks doing fine.
Cinnamon and Spice, the Khaki Campbell ducks, must be settled in, because a few days ago, they began giving us these:
A pale green and a dark green egg, one from each. I'm so glad to have duck eggs again!
Khaki Campbells are prolific layers, and I can see why they are so popular amongst waterfowl admirers.
I linked up today with Jami at
for her weekly Tuesday Garden Party. Lots of good gardening posts this week on Jami's blog, if you have time to come on over and look at it.
Another view of Howard Pine's Greenhouse in Lawrence... amaryllis... aren't they gorgeous!
That's it for a waterlogged Calamity Acres, thank heavens!
Glad you're getting some rain. We're supposed to get some tomorrow; I hope we do.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting the rain you need so bad. We are getting it too and we don't need it so much:)
ReplyDeleteGood deal on getting the duck eggs!
ReplyDeleteThe rain that was already suppose to be here won't be here until lunch. Suppose to be pretty bad.....
Morning, glad the rains came, needed badly.....sweet ducks, love their names.......Never had a duck egg, are they tasty? Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteWe are quite water logged too and have flood warnings in many areas. It's raining more today. I know you are happy having the ponds there fill up.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann,
ReplyDeleteWe're up to 35 degrees today!!!
Ice falling off the trees sounds like we're under attack!!!
Hopefully, by tomorrow...we'll have more Seasonalbe weather.
Whatever THAT is!!!
Thanks for your visit on my side of the Prairie today, dear friend!!!
Fondly,
Pat
So nice that the ponds are filling.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks are so cute!
