Still Sick

I can't believe I'm typing this, but I am still sick!

Head-achy, feeling feverish but no fever, if that makes sense,
no appetite, and upset stomach when I do eat.

TIRED.  Tired.  Very, very tired.

I had a Prevnar 13 shot, but not a flu shot.

Uh oh.

It doesn't really feel like flu, though, because I am not achy.

I am seeing many, many cardinals right now, sometimes six or seven pair on the ground
and on the bench I feed from in the evening.  They are almost always the last to eat.

There was the tiniest little bit of sun yesterday, and we took the dogs out to
walk, they were so eager to get out for a while.  Lilly is still dragging the leg, though... and
we did not go today, it was 35, but with a very strong wind that made it feel like 20,
and I am just not up to it.

I saw something neat on the way home.  This MAY be the Northern Harrier,
but maybe not.

It was watching something intently in the ditch (I stopped the car).

It suddenly dove.

Like a bomb!

You are going to have to look hard to see it, because it was instantly up in the air again,
with grass and... I think, the animal, dangling between it's legs.

I didn't get a picture of it.

This Cooper's was a little farther down the road.

It is so beautiful!

From any direction!

I looked out the window of the tv room this morning, and
here was our visitor on our own fence.

He is also beautiful from any angle.

I ran downstairs to take his picture through the clear patio window... but... the
birds can also see movement through there, and as soon as I did,
off he flew.

I am not having any trouble sleeping, this past week, so I am
praying that holds tonight and maybe I can get over this stuff.

  1. Sleep is a blessing; glad you're getting it! Beautiful photos, as always. I tried my hand at some bird shots yesterday, but didn't get anything close to yours.

  5. Great pictures Mary Ann. I am so sorry you are still sick. The last junk I had, I coughed for a month. Between the coughing up lung pieces and blowing out brain matter....wonder I lived through it.

We had an owl on the gate this AM when I left in the dark. Have a feeling he was hunting my beer can (that's the little cotton tail rabbits) that have been in our yard. Mr. Buck our old beagle buddies called the cotton tails - beer cans. And he called the Swamp Rabbits - Volkswagons.....

  16. Oh no! Last time I felt that way, sleepy and super sore throat that wouldn't go away, I had to go to the doctors. You know what he told me? I had mono! What a shame. I was out for weeks, sleeping all day, and barely getting around the house. It's a tough battle, I hope you don't have it.
