Hannah, Redux

Our little girl is home tonight, and feeling better, we think.  The eye is out, and along with the eye, four teeth that had gone bad.  She ate eagerly when she got home, and immediately went to the bathroom when Keith got her to the deck.  She has had plenty of water, so I will probably be getting up during the night to take her out.  She also had a very healthy appetite!

Yes, she's on pain meds, and also on antibiotics for the next ten days.  She will go back to have her stitches checked in ten days or so.  No collar to prevent scratching, either!  I feel better about putting her in the crate tomorrow because of it.  We are cautiously optimistic, and feel like she is already feeling better, now that the constant ache of the throbbing glaucoma-eye is gone.

We kept Gertie and Abby away from her tonight as much as possible, in order to keep the eye socket from being scratched.  They are all three laying here by me right now, though, sleeping and snoring.

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and comments the last few days.  I was very, very afraid of this operation, but I did not want Hannah to keep suffering.  Thanks especially to friend Jill, who, as an RVT gave me much information, and to Vickie, who sent me pictures of her cocker spaniel who had had the operation, so I knew what to expect.  You don't know how much that helped me!  I appreciate each and every one of your comments and well wishes.  Pug owners out there:  I was so afraid of this, but Hannah appears to have come through like a champ, and we wish we would have done it sooner!
