The Run Up To Christmas

What I did all morning.

And wrap and bag and wrap and bag.

It's all finished, except for bagging the two oldest boys,
Nathan and Chris, who may not be able to come up from Garnett.

I'll get theirs to them next week, but it won't be the same without them.

With 11 grandkids, there is a lot of wrapping and bagging.

I think we are going to have to have a bigger tree next year.

I still have lots to do, and I have NOT MADE ONE COOKIE!

The dogs and I took a break to go for a walk around noon.  This bucolic picture is with my favorite little herd... you see they are all comfortable in the forty degree weather... but notice the ice on the pond?

Barn love, on the way.

And more barn love.

Yesterday it was cloudy and cold all day... it was so good to see the
sun today, despite this look on Lil's face.
She was edging her way down the drive and had to come back.

Someone else had the right idea.

He does not like the tubes and wrapping paper.

Now, on to signing cards.

I hope you all are almost finished getting ready!

We have our Christmas party on Sunday... woo hoo!

  1. You do look very organised. Isn't it just the most wonderful time of year!

  2. I notice that where the cattle are resting, the field looks very dry. Didn't you recently have lots of rain? They look very happy!

  3. Good for you getting that much done ! I can finally wrap and finish up my cards. We have a little snow on the ground this evening.

  4. Sounds like you will have a very full house for the holidays!

  5. Got my cards finished last night, and most wrapping is wrapped up. We don't have nearly so many people to gift, so that helps!

  6. I didn't send cards. My tree's not up. I have all the presents, nothing wrapped. You get an A++++!

  7. For the first time ever I had all of Christmas decorating & gifting wrapped up by Thanksgiving. Think I miss the hectic ness of the season tho. That pic of Lil is incredible!

  8. Things are beginning to see hectic!!! Your soo busy!

  9. Love those barn shots!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  10. Yes , those barns are very cool!

  11. You are an inspiration!

I had grand plans, as I do every year, to get the shopping done early, write out and mail cards early, and actually make cookies this year. And yet, here I am with the final gifts *just purchased, not a single card to be sent this year, and not a single cookie baked. There are, however, twinkle lights on the tree and along the ceiling, gifts strewn about my office waiting for paper and bags, and still enough hours between now and then for a few cookies to make their way into existence. Also, there is family here in this cozy home of ours with loved ones coming for Christmas dinner and others who remain in our hearts and in our thoughts, though they are too many miles away for either side to make the trek :-) I truly couldn't ask for more!

Wishing you the merriest or merry Christmases!

  12. Lily Ann is so beautiful. hahaha, laughing at Jester. funny what dogs don't like.
Glad you have your shopping done. I do hope the other 2 can make it.

I love comments!
