I would recommend putting up any bird feeders at night or cat food containers. We have had bird feeders disappear around here, and the coons go after our secured bins of feed but never get in.
I've caught video of the coons attacking the bird feeders. Our coons are about 18 to 22 pounds each, and seem to be down right mean. I do agree if they are going to take birds to the fair, they should have to care for them. Looks like all must be going well for you right now. My neighbors feed raccoons, so the raccoons are encouraged to hang around the neighborhood. It seems there should be a way to get kids to feed and water their chickens, like maybe losing points or being denied a ribbon. Animals are not a vase or birdhouse brought to the fair.

Raccoons can rip through doors, sidings, and get into your house if they really want that food.Practical Parsimonyhttp://www.practical-parsimony.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817285380732686421.post-75475421413848504572017-07-16T14:48:14.646-05:002017-07-16T14:48:14.646-05:00Sorry you are having raccoon problems.
